This was an excellent video and opens up new capabilities.

I know there was only one pedal on the midi chain. However, when connecting another, turn Midi Clock Tx OFF on any pedal after the first. If not, it will stack the bpm. So in this case, let's say the Stomp is sending 70bpm. If midi Clokc Tx is on on the HX One, it will send 140 bpm to the next pedal. As long as you have midi through on, you're good.

Thx for demoing these. I have been enjoying the hx stomp for little bit now & I use a dual footswitch like you have. 1 question on your video though - did you connect the trs cables left out to right in & right out to left in? Seems like they are crossed.

This is perfect! It allows for the use of both units together or to split them up and use them with other amp pr pedal board setups! I watched a friend of mine using the Eventide with his Stomp live & it made sense to be able to do more & take the load off of the processor but at the same time be able to break them up and use them for other things. It also allows for so much more flexibility between the units! Thanks! I've already sent it to a few people I know who have both units as well.

I only wish you would have showed me how to make a hx stomp into a hxstomp xl go if that is possible. I have hx stomp an expression pedal but can I make it like a helix with the hx one?

A better way to explain stereo delay and reverb is. Stereo delay will create differences between the left and right channel dependant on time settings. Stereo reverb will allow those differences to pass through. A mono reverb after a stereo delay will make all your differences between the left and right channel go away *it will sum to mono. Basically once you go stereo in any effect, all effects after it should be stereo. Of course this is only important if you are using both outputs into a left and right speakers/amps. If you are going into a single speaker then all of this is irrelevant 😂

The whole tone/pitch thing is a bit shady. You basically said you lie to them to keep from hurting their feelbads. It is tough to have that conversation but point out what they did well and where they need to put in the work and how to put in that work to improve. Even offer to work with/shepherd them along the way.

This may be a bit of a dumb question, but if you use an external compressor and drive pedal straight into the input of the Stomp, will the input gate negatively impact the tone? I want to add a compressor and a few drives to free up some DSP, but still want to be able to use the input gate if needed.

Jimmy, how would use the TNXO with the HX Stomp? I already have an Immerse mkII Reverb in the FX loop as a block, so I think the TNXO would have to just be inline, TNXO stereo outs > HX Stomp LR ins. The next challenge I would think would be how to manage the TNXO amp presets. I mainly use the Archetype clean in HX Stomp, but I made a nice PRS Archon 50 head capture when I had the Tonex pedal. I have different HX Stomp Archon presets, or I suppose could be "Snapshots": Bright, Medium, Dark, etc. Also have some 5150 / Dual Rectifier lead gain models in the Stomp, that would go over to the TNXO, and I would think speaker IRs stay where they are on the Stomp. Only 2-4 amp models total, but it still seems a preset challenge between the Stomp and TNXO, and there is no MIDI on the TNXO....

I am an older guy that has been playing on the WT for years. Recently the leader decided I didn’t measure up. The way they got rid of me was to just stop scheduling me, hoping I would “get the message” without ever actually telling me. When I confronted them, they asked me to re-audition. I declined and actually have not been back to church since.

Wow. To my ears I don’t describe it as “fizzy”, but I know exactly the sound you’re describing. I can hear it through my iPhone speakers and have dealt with it on both helix models I have owned. Also, the digital clipping has also been quite elusive to me. Thank you for the great tutorial video.

All this is good advice, but I think this is not always the dynamic at small town churches. Some small churches, don’t have a paid worship leader, and the whole team is volunteer, and sometimes the pastor decides who is gonna sing or not sing. Hopefully, the worship leader is allowed to make the decisions about worship and trusted to follow the spirit.

I'd like to present a slightly different perspective: I came to church in my early 40's, with decades of professional experience in music. Since then, I've mostly served in small churches where it's difficult to find enough musicians. Excellence in the Kingdom sometimes aligns with worldly standards, but often looks very different! The New Testament model for ministry builds people up instead of tearing them down, and looks like this: pray, love, teach, counsel, repent & forgive each other, seek God's grace and wisdom, look for His will in every situation, and remember that the greatest of these is LOVE.

Thanks for the demo and convincing me I do not need this pedal. The gain cycle is kind of gimmicky, if you know how to work a volume pedal or your guitar volume knob. And the tones themselves aren’t anything that really inspire… me anyways.

What is the solution if you have someone in the choir that are really affecting the sound negatively .They have been talked to but still haven't heeded the advice.
